What we do
Our family serves Harvest Centre (which is the ministry extension of New Covenant Community Church) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The focus of this ministry is to "Break the cycle of poverty through quality education." In Malaysia, there are many refugees, especially from the countries of Myanmar and Sri Lanka. These refugees have no access to public schools and as a result, have little opportunity in life to better themselves. The ministry of Harvest Centre is particularly towards these individuals.
We have a school that offers education to students from preschool to secondary school. As of now, there are over 350 children enrolled. Rosie supervises other classes as well as teaching her own, she is also involved with training other teachers. Nick manages the Epoch Youth Center where students come by after school for some food, internet, classes or study time. As for Nikao, he is 5 years old and attends school in the morning and spends his afternoon in mommy's class. John Michael will be 1 year in April and stays with mommy. He smiles full-time.
We have been in Malaysia since January 2005 and love doing what we do! Although things can be stressful at times, we know that we are serving God's purposes here and believe that we are making a positive impact on the hundreds of people we interact with daily.
